Overview Job Location: Maryville, IL 62062 • Position Type: PRN (16 Hours) • Salary Range: $42.45 - $76.00 Hourly • Job Shift: Varies • Job Category: Clinical-Professional Job Summary Staff Pharmacist monitor patient drug therapies, fill order for parenteral and enteral medications and provide drug information. Staff pharmacist supervisor and direct support personnel. In the absence of the Director of Pharmacy, staff pharmacist may be required to assume the essential responsibility and perform the duties of the Director of Pharmacy. Responsibilities Prepares and dispenses medications per physician order according to established policies, procedures, and protocols. Ensures safe, appropriate medication therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures and protocols. Provides accurate and timely drug information to the professional staff, patients, and families. Actively assimilates patient safety philosophy into daily activities. Acts to minimize risk to the patient, hospital, fellow employees and self. Performs essential duties of the pharmacy director in his/her absence. Conveys essential patient and medication information to members of the health care team. Provides age-appropriate and population specific patient care in a safe, skillful, accurate and efficient manner to newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric patients. Supports patient’s rights and responsibilities, including respect of cultural and religious diversity. Ensures accuracy of patient billing information. Qualifications Education Requirements and Other Requirements: Education Level: Bachelor of Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
