Registered Nurse (RN) Unit: Labor and DeliveryEmployment Type: Per Diem tier IIITier III Requirements: 144 hours minimum per 6 week schedule. 4 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule. 1 winter holiday and 1 spring/summer holiday.Shift: Day Shift (7am-7:30pm) Location: St. Mary Medical CenterPosition PurposeThe primary objective of this position is to provide quality of care. Responsible for the direct and/or indirect care of patients assigned utilizing professional nursing skills and knowledge.Unit OverviewUnit contains 8 labor beds, 2 triage rooms, 2 operating rooms, and 2 recovery rooms. 1:1-1:2 nurse to patient ratio.As a Registered Nurse, you willAssesses learning needs, readiness to learn and identify actual or potential barriers to learning and thereby incorporating the patient's education into daily activities based on age, cultural and spiritual values.Documents admission assessment / reassessment, plan, interventions and medication use and monitors its effects and outcomes according to policy.Utilizes the information management system to enhance communication and documents change in-patients condition to all appropriate individuals.
