About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Procurement Officer, Senior Vice President to join their global team. The successful candidate will be a key leader in shaping the company's procurement strategy, with a focus on both direct and indirect expenses. This role is pivotal in managing supplier relationships and the operation of company facilities, and requires a strategic thinker who can drive value and innovation to ensure sustainable growth. The CPO will be responsible for a substantial annual spend, leading a large team of procurement professionals, and overseeing the development and execution of best-in-class category strategies. Key responsibilities include securing buy-in from business stakeholders, driving the strategic sourcing process, and optimizing procurement processes, analytics, and digital tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement strategy and operations, with a proven track record of leading global teams and driving significant improvements in procurement processes. Candidates for the Chief Procurement Officer position at the company should have at least 15 years' experience in leading procurement teams, preferably in large industrial or pharmaceutical settings. Essential skills include strong critical thinking, problem-solving, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration. Leadership qualities such as change management, influencing skills, and the ability to drive transformational change in a global environment are also crucial. The CPO will be expected to have a professional proficiency in procurement management, digital procurement strategy, and be adept at managing supplier ESG strategy. A background in finance, engineering, supply chain, or a related field is required, with an MBA or equivalent experience. The role demands a leader who can balance long-term innovation with short-term operational needs, ensure regulatory and quality compliance, and effectively manage complexity within the organization.
