Position: RN - Pediatric

Department: Med Surg - 4N

Employment Type: Regular

Schedule: Full Time, Night Shift, 36 Hours/Week (7 PM - 7 AM), Every 3rd Weekend

Preferred Experience: Background in pediatric hematology/oncology is advantageous.

Shift Differentials: Available for night and weekend shifts.

Job Overview

The role involves delivering direct nursing care in line with the established policies, procedures, and protocols of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and oversee patient care plans, ensuring accurate monitoring, recording, and communication of patient conditions.
  • Act as the primary coordinator among various disciplines to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Execute physician and nursing orders effectively.
  • Evaluate and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
  • Maintain a vigilant and safe working environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.
  • Experience: No prior experience is necessary.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly use speech for effective oral communication.
  • Frequent standing and walking are required.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling of objects weighing between 0-50 lbs.
  • Regularly engage in sitting, reaching, and data entry tasks.
  • Consistent use of vision for near and far distances, as well as color differentiation.
  • Frequent use of smell for odor recognition.
  • Regularly utilize hearing to receive oral communication and detect alarms or machinery issues.
  • Occasional driving may be necessary.
  • Rarely involves crawling or running.
Licensure and Certifications

State-specific requirements include:

  • Illinois: Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA) and Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
  • Missouri: Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA) and Registered Nurse (RN) - Missouri Division of Professional Registration.
  • Oklahoma: Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA) and Registered Nurse (RN) issued by Compact State.
  • Wisconsin: Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA) and Registered Nurse (RN) issued by Compact State.
