Geospatial (GIS) Business Analyst

Overview Ardent is seeking a Geospatial (GIS) Business Analyst to join the team. This onsite position is based in Huntsville, AL. Position Description Geospatial (GIS) Business Analyst with in-depth knowledge of industry-leading Geospatial tools, including ESRI’s web-GIS and desktop suite. Responsibilities include diagnosing technical issues with ArcGIS web applications and implementing IT solutions to provide a high-quality user experience. Design and develop tools and applications that leverage ArcGIS API for Python to automate GIS tasks such as map production, publishing web services, updating data sources across databases, web map generation, and more. Support critical automation tasks to manage deployments, metrics, user access, and other tasks. Work within an Agile process to develop data-driven solutions for incident operations and national security events using ArcGIS Dashboards, Experience Builder (ExB), Survey123, Field Maps, StoryMaps, and Track Viewer. Responsibilities Client Support and Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot issues related to ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise deployments and create maps or visualizations for critical infrastructure and cyber information related to hazards, such as natural disasters, threats, and security events. Complex Problem Solving: Solve IT infrastructure, application design, development, and user-experience challenges; translate customer ideas into minimum-viable products using the ArcGIS toolset. Customer Interaction and Needs Assessment: Develop technical expertise in ArcGIS and communicate capabilities to customers, anticipating needs. Tool and Application Deployment: Leverage ArcGIS Dashboard, Insights, Survey123, Field Maps, Experience Builder, and Web AppBuilder; write technical design specifications and support documentation. Adaptability: Maintain flexibility in the face of changing demands and transitions. Requirements Active Top Secret Clearance. Bachelor's Degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Earth Sciences, Engineering, IT-focused discipline, or equivalent experience. 1+ years of GIS technical support Ability to identify, articulate, and address solutions for customer issues related to ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and related technologies. Experience developing Geospatial Products using Esri ArcGIS Desktop/Pro and web-based tools including ESRI Dashboards, Experience Builder, Survey123, Web AppBuilder, StoryMaps, and mobile applications. Strong cartographic skills and visual interpretation of data. Ability to clean, format, and analyze geospatial data. Working knowledge of relational databases, including data collection, processing, analysis, modeling, and exploitation. Understanding of Esri Geodatabases and OGC service standards for geospatial data. Experience leveraging Python for GIS visualization, spatial data management, and GIS system administration tasks. Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies. Recommended Qualifications Experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications. Strong understanding of geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology. Ability to communicate with customers of varying technical expertise in GIS and IT.
