Job Description:Employee will be responsible for drafting, managing standardized work. Update layouts, managing the throughput improvement process and collaborating with UAW counterparts with relation to production IE/Ergo matters.Job Responsibilities:Implement common Industrial Engineering business practices and processes.Design work operations that meet safety, quality, and efficiency requirements with high integrity.Maintain accurate time studies through motion analysis and application of standard time data.Maintain accurate workstation layouts using computer aided drafting software (AutoCAD).Drive Continuous Improvement efforts in assigned area through elimination of waste.Evaluate bottleneck areas and support throughput and productivity improvements in assigned area.Support change management projects by developing line balance plans and participating in production trials.Reduce total cost by improving productivity metrics related to operator work loading and value-added percent.Participate in lean manufacturing through implementation of GM's Global Manufacturing System.Support implementation and training for standardized work development.Become a coach and teacher of lean manufacturing principles to the production floor team members.Drive problem solving efforts.Work collaboratively as one team with all levels of the organization.Develop relationships with Production department and related personnel.Required Qualifications:Bachelor 's degree in the field of Engineering required.3-5 years of industrial engineering experience.Experience working in manufacturing with a background in Continuous Improvement.Experience in documentation of Standardized Work procedures.Experience in implementation of Lean Manufacturing concepts.Knowledge of time study and motion analysis.Working knowledge of computer aided drafting tools (AutoCAD).Ability to adapt to different interpersonal styles and communication methods.Self-motivated individual with Continuous Improvement focus.Ability to work any shift, OT and weekend shifts.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of human factors engineering / ergonomic analysis.Previous experience with project management and time management.Previous experience working in a Union Environment or Bargaining Unit.Experience working in a plant with machining operations.Hiring Manager's Top Skills:Previous experience working in a manufacturing environmentExperience in documentation of standardized work proceduresAdapt to different interpersonal styles and communication methods (working with a union)Shift Info:Monday - Friday Onsite no remote 1st shift: 6:00am to 3:30pm Occasional - Holidays and Weekends. Sometimes will need to do IE work on the weekend to support projects, on an as needed basis. This will not be every weekend.
