We are seeking a motivated Health Unit Coordinator, PRN to join our clinical support team! The HUC plays a vital role in supporting clinical staff and ensuring smooth unit operations through a variety of clerical and communication tasks.

What You Will Do:

• Greet visitors and answer incoming phone calls professionally.
• Perform clerical duties such as admitting and discharging patients in the Epic system.
• Ensure patients have all necessary paperwork and manage orders for patient transfers.
• Efficiently manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Support clinical staff with diverse administrative tasks.
• Handle internal and external calls, including directing patient family inquiries to nursing staff.
• Page providers for admissions and discharge paperwork signatures
• This position is primarily in MedSurg and Video Monitoring Pod

Schedule Requirements:

• Work 30 hours per week/60 hours bi-weekly
• Day/Night rotation: 6:30am - 6:30pm & 6:30pm - 6:30am (12-hour shifts) and overlap shift of 7:30am -7:30 pm
• 2 holidays per year
• 2 weekends in a 6-week scheduling period
• PRN status; not benefit eligible

Compensation:

• Hourly Rate: $35.50
• Training & Orientation Rate: $17.50 + more for experience
• Not Benefit Eligible

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience as a Health Unit Coordinator, Unit Secretary, or similar role preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn electronic health record systems
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
