Provide specialized respiratory care to patients in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Ensure optimal respiratory function through assessment, treatment, and support aligned with clinical protocols. Responsibilities:
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments and monitor patients' response.
- Perform procedures such as intubations, surfactant administration, and delivery of nitric oxide.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation of therapy interventions and patient progress.
- Ensure compliance with unit policies, safety protocols, and certification requirements.
- Support patients and families with education and emotional reassurance during critical procedures.
- Hold current credentials as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of experience.
- Possess NICU Level 3 or pediatric critical care experience; adult-only experience not acceptable.
- Maintain valid NRP, PALS, ACLS, and BLS certifications.
- Demonstrate proficiency in ventilator management, intubation, and pediatric respiratory care.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure clinical environments.
- Must be able to float across adult ICU, pediatric floors, and NICU units as required.
