Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Duration: 20 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active VA/Compact License required upon start Certifications: NIH Stroke Scale - Expires, ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Charge experience preferred, Cerner preferred Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Intermediate Care for a 20-week assignment. This position involves providing care to a diverse patient population, including those with medical-surgical, tele, cardiac IMCU acuity level patients, neuro patients, and CVA patients. Assignments are for 12-hour night shifts. Charge responsibility may be required, and the RN will receive the appropriate pay differential and training. The unit expects all team members, including travelers, to contribute to a culture of support, especially when interacting with students and new hires. Nurses are expected to work at least one major holiday, including Christmas Day and/or New Year’s Day. The unit will consider weekend-only requests but cannot accommodate block scheduling. Cancellations by the client may occur up to 36 hours before an assignment due to patient census needs. All requested time off must be submitted with the application. Travelers should provide a full work history and explain any gaps in work history over 90 days. A skills checklist and a copy of the nursing license will also be required. Candidates with approved declinations for Covid/Flu vaccinations will be accepted.
