Students enrolled in the 1-year certification program, or 2-year degree program, may apply for the Aspen SVC Apprentice Program. Students support their education and financial obligations by working part-time at Aspen in the morning while attending classes in the afternoon. Aspen Apprentices are selected based on their individual talent, as well as their career goals. Aspen Apprentices have the opportunity to work additional hours during school breaks and may be promoted to full-time employment upon graduation from their course of study.Current SVC Marine Tech students may speak to their instructor about the program. The mechanic position will perform a wide range of tasks in the service of our 28? – 44? cruisers and yachts. The job has an array of responsibilities that will keep you challenged and very active.This position is focused on the ability to perform tasks such as oil changes, battery replacements, electronics installs and more. They love to find the problem and solve it once. They are able to communicate with owners honestly and track hours for accurate invoicing.Preferred applicants are problem solvers who have experience with a wide range of tools.Experience: 2 – 8 years proven experience in marine service highly desired, RV or automotive could apply. Must have experience with Mercury, Yamaha, or Volvo. We service both inboard and outboard motors.Experience with 12V wiring, 120V wiring and marine electrical and plumbing. Knowledge of marine systems, i.e. air conditioning, diesel furnace, marine generators, Garmin technology systems, solar panels, and sea water systems.The marine electrician will focus 90% of their energy on boat production and 10% on developing more efficient process for the production of future boats. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized and detail oriented. Communication skills need to be excellent within the service department for parts and invoicing. Our goal is consistent very high-quality craftsman completions. You will be able to perform tasks such as bottom paint, oil changes, battery replacements, pump replacements, and more. This is a hands-on position that gets dirty from time to time.Experience: Experience with bottom painting, know how to use basic hand tools and measuring devices, basic understanding of mechanical skills, follow both written and verbal instructions, follow all safe work practices, and complete all duties as assigned.Qualifications: Must follow all safety standards and procedures. Must be organized and tidy.
