Food Service Manager

Full Time - Athletic Nutrition Center Restaurant Manager Pay Rate : $25.00-$29.00 per hour (good faith estimate). Summary : Manages 4‑8 subordinate Crew Leads or Assistant Managers and approximately 60‑80 employees across store operations. Oversees kitchen and market direction, coordination, and evaluation. Supervises hiring, training, budgeting, forecasting, planning, performance evaluation, coaching, discipline, complaint resolution, and problem solving. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Operate market and kitchen successfully through outstanding customer service to achieve customer satisfaction and financial goals. Interview, select, and hire unit personnel using approved practices and training. Develop and maintain employee schedules to cover staffing needs while ensuring cleanliness and customer satisfaction. Perform all administrative duties accurately and timely. Manage and develop staff, including hiring, terminating, disciplining, setting priorities, conducting meetings, coordinating training, evaluating performance, and directing work assignments. Formulate pricing recommendations on foods for store profitability and marketplace comparability. Participate in the development of the annual operating budget. Implement operational plans to achieve profit and growth goals. Prepare daily sales reports to determine profitability, adjusting staffing and production accordingly. Plan and prepare work schedules, and assign employees to duties. Carry out sales promotional activities. Order food or place requisitions to replenish inventory using the inventory management system. Ensure proper procedures and guidelines are in place for quality product and service provision. Recommend menu items responding to customer needs and profitability goals. Resolve customer issues and complaints to ensure satisfaction. Monitor compliance for inspections, handling, storage, security, sanitation procedures; ensure audit “meets standards.” Supervise and train employees in food preparation, cash registers, inventory handling, cash reconciliation, operating records, and transaction records. Develop and maintain relationships with customers, coworkers, vendors, student organizations, staff, and university personnel. Ensure compliance with company policies and federal, state, local laws. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s degree in Business or Hotel/Restaurant Management preferred but not required. Minimum two years experience in high‑volume food service operations and one year supervisory experience, or equivalent combination. Strong communication, computer literacy, and mathematical skills required. Serve Safe Certified and Management Food Handler Certificate preferred. Qualifications Language skills: Ability to read, write, and understand English; follow verbal and written instructions; interpret business information and regulations; write reports and present information; respond to questions. Mathematical skills: Ability to calculate discounts, portions, percentages, volume; prepare and analyze numerical figures; create and interpret spreadsheets. Reasoning ability: Apply common sense to carry out written or oral instructions; multitask, prioritize work, attend to details; possess analytical, quantitative, organizational, and management skills. Manual dexterity: Use computer; operate office machines and food service equipment. Physical demands: Operate food service equipment, cash registers, office equipment; walk/move, sit, and stand for prolonged periods; lift or carry up to 50 pounds; visual requirements include close and color vision. Physical communication: Speak, express ideas, hear sounds. Work conditions and hazards: Work area with food fumes or airborne particles; occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, humid/hot conditions, and cleaning chemicals; moderate noise level.
