Facilities Technician

Work Model This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office. Summary The Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in assigned areas, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for associates, contractors, visitors, and other third parties onsite. The employee will ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency in industrial facilities by performing comprehensive cleaning, waste management, and equipment maintenance tasks. Scope of Position This position is responsible for: Facility and building maintenance Plumbing maintenance and repair Waste management and compactor monitoring Exterior weed control and facility appearance This position does not include: Electrical maintenance or repair Specialized electrical or mechanical trade work outside assigned scope Responsibilities Perform general facility maintenance, including minor repairs, painting, wall patching, and fixture replacement. Maintain and repair plumbing systems by inspecting facility areas and quickly resolving issues such as leaks, clogs, and worn components. Manage facility waste operations, including coordinating garbage removal, monitoring trash compactors, and arranging service or pickups as needed to ensure proper waste handling. Maintain clean, safe, and organized waste disposal and compactor areas. Perform basic groundskeeping duties, including mowing, manual weed removal, and applying approved herbicides as needed. Ensure exterior areas of the facility are maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly condition. Repair and maintain building components such as doors, locks, handles, and other non-electrical systems. Replace ceiling tiles, air filters, and other general facility components as required. Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner. Safely operate facility and maintenance equipment, including forklifts (tow motors), floor scrubbers, floor sweepers, scissor lifts, man lifts, company vehicles, lawn mowers, and weed trimmers. Follow all safety policies and procedures while performing assigned duties. Perform additional duties as assigned by the EHS & Facilities Manager. Job Requirements / Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience in facility maintenance, plumbing, or building maintenance preferred. Basic knowledge of plumbing systems and repair. Ability to operate powered industrial equipment or obtain certification. Strong attention to safety and detail. Ability to work independently and follow direction. Self‑motivated with strong communication and teamwork skills. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic issues. Commitment to following all safety rules and regulations. Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or related methodologies. Experience with visual management systems and workplace organization. Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards. Physical Demands and Work Environment Stand, walk, use hands, reach with arms, talk or hear regularly. Lift and manipulate up to 55 pounds; occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Work at heights up to 20 feet using ladders and lift devices. Stand, walk, bend, twist, kneel, crawl for extended periods to maintain operational standards. Exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock, explosives and vibration.
