Work Environment

This position is fully remote, offering flexibility and convenience to both you and your clients. You will leverage telehealth technology to conduct virtual assessments and therapy sessions within a supportive and progressive workplace. Our team operates under a regular work schedule of Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance while making a significant impact in the lives of our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients, identifying their specific emotional and psychological needs.
• Provide individualized and group counseling that targets common geriatric challenges such as loss, grief, and life transitions.
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary health teams to create and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to the needs of geriatric residents.
• Educate families and caregiving staff on effective strategies to improve the emotional well-being and overall quality of life for elderly clients.
• Facilitate grief and loss counseling services for clients and their families who are navigating end-of-life issues.
• Implement cognitive stimulation and mental health interventions designed to combat cognitive decline and promote mental acuity among elderly individuals.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with a diverse population of senior clients who may experience a variety of mental health challenges related to aging. This includes individuals coping with chronic illness, grief, anxiety, and depression. An understanding of the unique cultural backgrounds and life experiences of these clients is essential to providing effective and sensitive care.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification in the state of Florida.
• A minimum of four years of recent, relevant experience working in geriatric mental health counseling.
• Strong understanding of evidence-based therapeutic techniques tailored for older adults.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills essential for building rapport with elderly clients and their families.
• Knowledge of legal and ethical standards in mental health counseling.
• Ability to conduct thorough assessments and create personalized treatment plans.

Preferred Experience

• Additional training or certification related to geriatric mental health and aging-related issues.
• Experience in crisis intervention and grief counseling.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from USD 65,000 to 95,000, depending on experience and qualifications, and includes potential performance-based bonuses. Additional benefits include:
