Registered Nurse (RN) - 13 Week Contract

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, while promoting a safe environment for patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop an individualized plan of care.
• Identify patient teaching needs and collaborate with patients and families for goal setting based on clinical assessments.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in a timely and accurate manner.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, focusing on educating patients and families based on identified health care needs.
• Initiate discharge planning on the day of admission and begin patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
• Communicate changes in patient status to appropriate personnel to ensure continuity of care.
• Supervise and orient ancillary nursing staff while providing direction and support.
• Maintain personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
• Contribute to the team environment through effective communication and teamwork.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested upon completion of the orientation period.
• Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (for certain locations).
• A minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Schedule

This position operates on a day shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts.
