Tele Float NurseHiring Process: Candidate Interview: Interview with MedSol Clinical Team- No Unit Manager involvement - Radius: 60 MILES, DL must be submitted - Floating roles: Travelers are expected to float throughout the zone they are hired into. Each zone covers a 60 mile radius from the zone's city center which is where the 60 mile verbiage comes into play. The traveler is responsible for obtaining housing that makes this feasible as the requirement to float throughout the full 60 mile zone applies regardless of where the traveler obtains housing. - Week of orientation: Please ensure clinicians are in state for week of orientation even if first day modules are completed remotely Traveler can't miss more than 3 shifts in a 13 week contract! Can make up on the front and back end of RTO *MUST submit a 2 week notice to avoid back out penalty fee** NO HOME BASE FACILITY! ! MUST BE 60 MILES FROM EACH FACILITY LISTED BELOW! MUST FLOAT WITHIN ZONE 3 -Zone 3 (Based around Denver City Center): OrthoColorado Hospital -10 miles from Denver City Center 11650 W 2nd Pl Lakewood, CO Longmont United Hospital -40 miles from Denver City Center 1950 Mountain View Ave Longmont, CO St. Anthony Hospital -10 miles from Denver City Center 11600 W 2nd Pl Lakewood, CO St. Anthony North Hospital -12 miles from Denver City Center 14300 Orchard Pkwy Westminster, CO Schedules are released 4–6 weeks in advance and follow one of two formats: Option A: • Scheduled at a single facility for the week • May float within that facility if needed Option B – Just-In-Time (JIT): • Facility assigned 1–2 hours before shift start via call Unit/Department: MS-Tele Float - What units are included in the float pool: Mutliple units ranging for General MS-Tele into various specialities from Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, & ED Obs - Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 based on acuity - Required Certifications (i.e., BLS, ACLS?): BLS, ACLS, NIHSS - Common diagnoses/Types of patients "Population: Adults- Geriatrics Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Renal, Urology-post surgicals, General Surgery-post appy, Gynecology, Psych/Detox, ENT, General Medicine, stable long term placement patients, and more" - Experience or 'Must have' skills: "Must have 2 years of MS-Tele experience Prefer prior neuro experience" - Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Heparin - Common titratable &/or set rate drips - Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Designated Charge on each unit; doesn't take a patient assignment unless necessary; more common for night shift charge to end up with a small pt assignment -Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Yes - RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): Yes - Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): "7-7, Schedule is made out by leadership for 6 wks at a time, travelers are expected to be flexible and help to fill gaps in permanent scheduling. - All time off requests need to be submitted prior to starting assignment" - Weekend Requirements: 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6 week schedule - Holiday Requirements : May be asked to go into the Holiday Rotation - Is there a call or standby requirement?: Rare, for low census - How are units assigned? i.e. via text message, daily sheet assignments, set schedule?: "May be asked to float into any other acuity level; ICU (take low acuity holds with skillset), PCU/Stepdown, & MS-Tele.
