What You’ll Do Work on light commercial and/or heavy commercial HVAC systems and cutting‑edge industrial equipment. Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems. Partner with Journeymen in the repair of centrifugal, steam turbines, absorption machines, open‑drive screw chillers, and ammonia systems. Provide the highest level of service to solve facility inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items. Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, providing solutions, recommendations, and quotes during commissioning and aftermarket service. Upsell opportunities and support JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program. Required Skills & Experience Member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL‑CIO. Minimum of eight (8) years of commercial or industrial mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry and Industrial Petrochemical or Data Center verticals. Experience with rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, plumbing. Ability to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers, and ammonia/hydrocarbon system components. Airflow, vibration, and shaft alignment expertise using dial indicators, laser, and vibration equipment. Maintenance of ammonia and hydrocarbon safety training certification. Capability to install complete systems (chillers, rooftop units, plumbing) and all supporting mechanical systems. Travel may be required 50‑75% of the time for customer support, installation, and repair. Pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies. Advantage: Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and a valid driver’s license. Self‑starter with a passion to learn and apply on the job.
