Cafe Lead Cook Part Time

The café lead cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of food items for the café and dining services at Tri-County Technical College. The lead cook will maintain a high standard of food preparation, cleanliness, and customer service to provide a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience for students, faculty, staff, visitors and fellow cooks. Responsibilities Food Preparation: Prepare, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold menu items, including breakfast, lunch, and snack options, following established recipes and guidelines. Majority of the average day will be in the grill area of the café where there are fryers, skillets, and stovetops. Menu Planning: Assist in planning daily and weekly menus, ensuring a diverse and healthy selection of food options. Sanitation & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following food safety and sanitation regulations. Regularly clean kitchen equipment, workstations, and utensils. Customer Service: Provide friendly and efficient service to students, staff, and other customers, ensuring their dietary needs and preferences are met. Collaboration: Work as part of a team to ensure smooth café operations, including assisting with opening and closing duties, and cooperating with other team members. Supervision: Coordinate daily operations by delegating job assignments and providing guidance. A Lead provides supervision at the assigned location when the Manager/Supervisor is not directly present. Qualifications High school diploma or GED and 2+ years of experience cooking in a restaurant setting. 2+ years of supervisor experience in a food service environment.
