About The French Quarry

The French Quarry is a family-owned countertop fabrication and installation company that has served homeowners, designers, remodelers and builders throughout the Valley for nearly 40 years.

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive relationship-builder who can develop new business and manage each customer and project from the first conversation through final installation.

This is a combined sales and project management position.

You will build relationships with new customers and professional partners, respond to incoming opportunities, prepare quotes and guide customers through the countertop selection process.

Once a project is sold, you will remain the customer’s primary point of contact—coordinating with our templating, fabrication and installation teams until the work is complete and final payment is received.

We are looking for someone who enjoys both winning business and making sure customers have a great experience.

You’ll be part of a close-knit, hands-on team and will work with a cross functional team to move projects forward. The role offers plenty of independence, variety and direct customer contact, along with the support of an experienced team that knows the countertop business.

What You’ll Do

Develop and Close Business

• Build relationships with remodelers, general contractors, designers, kitchen and bath professionals, custom home builders and other referral partners.
• Generate new opportunities through networking, referrals, outreach and in-person visits.
• Respond promptly to showroom visitors, homeowners and other incoming leads.
• Meet with customers to understand their needs and help them evaluate countertop materials, designs and fabrication options.
• Review cabinet specifications, architectural plans and customer drawings.
• Prepare accurate estimates, proposals, contracts and change orders.
• Follow up consistently on prospective customers and outstanding quotes.

Manage the Customer and Project

• Serve as the customer’s primary contact from the initial conversation through installation and final payment.
• Coordinate project details and key dates with customers and TFQ’s templating, fabrication and installation teams.
• Keep customers informed and work with the team to resolve problems quickly.
• Follow up after installation to confirm customer satisfaction.
• Collect deposits, approved change orders and final balances.
• Maintain an accurate pipeline of leads, quotes, active projects and follow-up commitments.

Who We’re Looking For

You may be an experienced construction or building-products salesperson with established relationships. Or you may be a smart, motivated relationship-builder who learns quickly, earns trust and follows through.

The perfect résumé is less important than initiative, judgment, curiosity and drive.

A strong candidate will bring:

• Experience in sales, business development, account management or project-based work.
• Confidence, initiative and self-motivation in developing new relationships and asking for business.
• Strong communication and listening skills, along with genuine curiosity about people and their needs.
• Empathy and a desire to see things from the customer’s perspective, treating people with patience and respect.
• A calm, creative approach to problems and conflict, with the ability to explore different solutions and focus on what is possible.
• Dependability and trustworthiness—following through on commitments, meeting deadlines and doing what you say you will do.
• The ability to organize and manage multiple customers and projects without losing track of details.
• Good judgment about what can be promised to a customer and when to involve the operations team.
• A positive, collaborative attitude and the ability to work independently while also contributing to a close-knit team.
• Openness to feedback, self-reflection and continued learning, with an interest in growing into greater responsibility over time.
• Comfort reading plans, measurements or specifications—or the willingness and ability to learn.
• A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and automobile insurance.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and customer-tracking tools.

Experience in countertops, stone fabrication, cabinets, kitchen and bath design, remodeling, construction or building products is helpful, but not required for an exceptional candidate.

A college degree is not required.

Reporting Relationship

This position reports to TFQ’s General Manager and works closely with the estimating, templating, fabrication and installation teams.
