DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and execute the organization’s HR strategy in alignment with business goals, growth plans, and operational priorities
• Lead and develop the HR function, establishing clear priorities, standards, and measurable objectives
• Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, interviewing, selection, hiring, onboarding, development, retention, and offboarding
• Direct the day-to-day operations, workflow, and service delivery of the HR department
• Partner with senior leadership and operational leaders to develop workforce plans and talent strategies that support organizational growth, staffing needs, and employee retention
• Establish, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, programs, and initiatives that promote organizational effectiveness, consistency, and compliance
• Manage employee relations matters with professionalism, consistency, and sound judgment, ensuring appropriate documentation and alignment with company policies and applicable employment laws
• Lead labor and union relations, including administration and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements, grievance management, contract compliance, disciplinary matters, and day-to-day communication with union representatives
• Provide strong oversight the organization’s workers’ compensation program, including workplace injury reporting, claims administration, coordination with insurance carriers and third-party administrators, and communication with employees, managers, and applicable medical providers
• Identify current and future talent needs and develop effective recruitment, selection, succession, and talent management strategies
• Analyze HR trends and workforce metrics using the organization’s HRIS and other systems to identify opportunities, measure effectiveness, and support data-driven decision-making
• Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; update HR policies and practices to reflect legal and regulatory changes
• Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and changes in employment law and HR technology, communicate relevant updates to leadership and implement improvements as needed
• Develop and manage the HR department’s annual budget, ensuring cost-effective operations

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
• At least five years of human resource management experience required
• Previous experience working in a unionized environment, including collective bargaining, grievance resolution, contract administration, and labor relations
• SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly preferred

Required Skills/Abilities

• Strong knowledge of human resources principles, practices, and applicable employment laws
• Demonstrated experience leading HR operations in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment
• Bilingual communication skills, with proficiency in English and Spanish strongly preferred
• Strong employee relations and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to handle sensitive matters objectively, professionally, and with discretion
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop HR professionals, managers, and operational leaders at all levels
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate policies, expectations, and complex HR matters
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to analyze HR data, workforce trends, and metrics and translate findings into actionable recommendations
• Proficiency with HRIS, payroll, benefits, and other HR technology and systems
• Strong understanding of recruitment, talent management, performance management, employee engagement, and workforce planning
• Ability to develop, implement, and effectively communicate HR policies, procedures, training programs, and initiatives
• Strong business acumen with the ability to align HR strategies with operational and financial objectives
• High level of integrity, professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment when handling sensitive employee and organizational matters
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments, locations, and levels of the organization

Schedule

Work schedules are based on the operational needs of the business. Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays is required for this position.

Physical, Mental and Environmental & Technical Demands

Fast-paced environment, multiple tasks to be handled under time constraint. Must be able to bend, crouch, kneel, and twist in the work area. The role involves frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, lifting, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 250lbs. often for extended periods. Must be able to maneuver around property. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to operate a computer, telephone, and copier. Must have manual dexterity to operate all office equipment.
