Educational ASL Interpreters - Multiple Openings (6 Positions) - Denton, TX We are seeking six (6) Educational ASL Interpreters to support students in school-based settings throughout the Denton, Texas area. These professionals will facilitate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their teachers, peers, and school staff, helping ensure equal access to classroom instruction and educational activities. Simple Requirements High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) RID certification, BEI certification, or state-required interpreter credentials preferred Previous experience working in educational or pediatric settings preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism Key Responsibilities Provide ASL interpretation for students during classroom instruction and school activities Facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers Assist in creating an accessible and inclusive learning environment Collaborate with educational teams to support student success Maintain accurate records and documentation as required Adhere to professional interpreting standards and ethical guidelines Support student participation in academic and extracurricular activities Minimum Requirements: Proficiency in American Sign Language Associates degree or Bachelors degree in interpreting, deaf studies or related field, preferred State Board of Education Initial Sign Language Interpreter Certificate (as applicable) Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) certificate (as applicable per state regulation or client requirement) Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) certification ( as applicable per state regulation or client requirement) Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice Current CPR if applicable TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) Must meet all federal, state and local requirements Must be at least 18 years of age Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: Competitive pay & weekly paychecks Health, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) savings plan Awards and recognition programs *Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
