Assistant General Manager

Title:

Assistant General Manager, Dicey’s Pizza & Tavern (Wedgewood Houston)

Reports to:

General Manager, LSD Directors and Partners

Position Objective:

Our Assistant General Manager helps support the General Manager in the oversight of daily operations, guest experience, sales and staff. In addition, the AGM serves as the site’s liaison between the Events Team and guests, leading on Private and Semi-Private Events. They will maintain the tone and positive vibe as related from the Land and Sea Dept with an emphasis on genuine hospitality.

Responsibilities:

Hospitality

- Create and cultivate a fun, warm, and contemporary culture
- Engage with and guests and stuff, ensuring we are exceeding expectations
- Evaluate and improve guest service by improving and implementing steps of service

Operational Oversight

- Assist in the oversight of all operational platforms and systems
- Collaborate and coordinate with Admin, Culinary and Events departments
- Enforce new CDC guidelines for PPE and sanitation
- Point of Sale maintenance and organization of Toast, manage printed and online menus

Property Oversight

- Assist with the inventory and ordering of front of all house supplies
- Oversee organization, cleanliness and function of all service and storage areas on property

Staff Management and Training

- Assist in ensuring all staff are empowered, motivated and trained
- Assist with the recruiting, hiring, training, disciplinary, and termination of staff
- Identify cross-training opportunities for staff retention and development
- Lead new hire onboarding and orientation
- Scheduling for hourly staff, using labor effectively to meet or exceed budget expectations
- Serve as a professional and personal role model to both BOH and FOH teams
