Public Works Director

The City of Ashland seeks a collaborative and innovative leader to join the team as Public Works Director. The department includes Streets, Stormwater, Fleet Maintenance, Solid Waste, Parks, Facilities & Grounds, Water & Wastewater Utilities, Administration and Engineering. This position requires advanced professional knowledge in the principles and practices of public works administration, engineering, capital project development and implementation, field maintenance operations, and program development. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, budgeting, project management, and personnel supervision skills. Success in this role requires professionalism, integrity, a commitment to public service, and the ability to effectively engage with staff, elected officials, contractors, developers, and residents. The City prefers a candidate with a bachelor's degree. Registration as a State of Wisconsin Professional Engineer is preferred. Salary range: $90,000 - $105,000.
