IFG Flight Test Instrumentation Engineering Associate Manager

Description We are Lockheed Martin. This position is for a first‑line manager of the Integrated Fighter Group Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI) team for Test & Evaluation, located in Fort Worth, TX. The team is responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and processing all aspects of flight test instrumentation for the F-22 test and F-16 FMS aircraft. The successful candidate will lead FTI system and detail design engineers, provide onsite technical and management oversight, collaborate with Test & Evaluation leadership on workforce planning, coordinate with Program Management Office and LOBe team, develop performance and Earned Value metrics, and create risk and opportunity matrices related to cost, schedule, and budget. The role enables autonomous day‑to‑day operation and coordination with other Lockheed site locations, frequent communication with Lockheed leadership and Program Management Office, and provides people and processes to plan, coordinate, and execute affordable instrumentation and data solutions across all test disciplines. The manager also coordinates subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, and recognition. Responsibilities include coordinating and interacting with several disciplines related to flight test, such as maintenance, configuration management, supportability, engineering, flight operations, security and quality. Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends when required; minimal travel may be required. This position requires a US citizen and special security access. Significant experience and knowledge of flight test instrumentation and/or data collection and processing. Flight Test Instrumentation experience – design, installation, troubleshooting or operations. Team leadership experience. Desired Skills F-16 FMS and F-22 program experience and line‑of‑business familiarity. F-22 and/or F-16 aircraft system knowledge. Excellent communication and coordination skills. Program management background with earned value management policies and practices. Comfortable working with senior leadership. Security Clearance This position requires a government security clearance. You must be a US citizen. Clearance level: Secret with investigation or CV date within 5 years.
