Behavioral Health Associate - Part Time (24 Hours) - 7am - 3:30pm

The Role As a Behavioral Health Associate, you are an integral part of the treatment team for patients upon admission. You collaborate with nurses to provide high‑standard care. Responsibilities Conduct safety checks and ensure 15‑minute supervision intervals. Engage patients to assess mental status, progress, and emotional needs. Observe patient behaviors and communicate significant findings to nursing staff. Encourage participation in therapeutic activities and individualized behavior strategies. Assist in crisis situations using verbal de‑escalation and, if necessary, physical interventions following CPI standards. Provide consistent 1:1 support and maintain therapeutic engagement. Float to different units as needed. Apply patient‑specific coping skills and sensory strategies per treatment plans. Educate colleagues on triggers, warning signs, and coping strategies. Identify and communicate discharge‑planning barriers. Assist with patient orientation during admissions. Enforce unit rules and serve as a role model. Mentor new Associates under nursing leadership. Advocate for patient rights. Attend department meetings and review minutes when absent. Complete required training and seek personal professional development. Accept feedback to improve clinical and professional skills. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Passion for behavioral health and a desire to help patients. Experience in human services, social work, behavioral health, or hospital setting preferred. Commitment to ongoing learning and career growth. Additional Information Base pay rate: $17.00–$20.25 per hour. Shift differentials: Weekend: $1.25 per hour Weekday evening: $1.25 per hour Weekend evening: $2.50 per hour Overnight: $4.00 per hour Shift availability: 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Hours: Part‑time (24 hours, 3 days per week) and full‑time each shift is 8 hours, including every other weekend.
