Salary: $75,000 - $125,000 (depending on experience)

About the Role

PMC Med Staff is seeking a dedicated and compassionate registered nurse for a fast-paced med/surg unit. As part of a collaborative healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional care to adult and geriatric patients, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. You'll be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while working closely with other healthcare professionals to promote optimal health outcomes. Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care & Assessment: Conduct thorough patient assessments on admission, identifying physical, psychological, and social needs. Develop and update individualized care plans based on assessments, and ensure timely, compassionate care.
• Care Plan Implementation: Execute and document interventions per care plans, reassessing and adjusting the plan as needed based on patient responses and progress.
• Patient Education & Advocacy: Provide patient and family education on medical conditions, treatment plans, and self-care practices. Advocate for patients' needs and provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to both patients and families.
• Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, multidisciplinary teams, and case management to ensure coordinated care. Facilitate communication between healthcare providers to address concerns and ensure optimal care delivery.
• Emergency Care: Recognize changes in patient conditions and intervene appropriately. Respond swiftly to emergencies, applying critical thinking and clinical judgment.
• Quality & Safety: Adhere to infection control standards, medication safety protocols, and other quality guidelines to maintain a safe environment. Ensure that all documentation complies with legal and regulatory standards.
• Discharge Planning: Assist in discharge planning by identifying patient needs, collaborating with case management, and ensuring a smooth transition from hospital to home.

Preferred Skills & Abilities

• Experience: Previous med/surg experience preferred, but new graduates with a passion for patient care are encouraged to apply.
• Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Ability to think critically in high-pressure situations, making decisions based on evidence and patient needs.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams effectively.
