Position Summary

We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician to join our established emergency department serving as a regional referral center. Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients of all ages in a busy regional emergency department
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute medical conditions including trauma, cardiac emergencies, stroke, and respiratory emergencies
• Manage pediatric emergency cases and general acute medical conditions
• Perform emergency procedures and stabilization for critically ill or injured patients
• Collaborate with specialty providers and coordinate patient transfers as needed
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in accordance with hospital policies
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and department protocols
• Work a predictable 12-shift monthly schedule with flexibility for additional overtime shifts

Required Qualifications

• Medical Degree: MD or DO from an accredited institution
• Board Certification: ABEM (American Board of Emergency Medicine) or AOBEM (American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine) certified or board eligible
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Medicine experience in a hospital emergency department setting, or recent residency graduates considered
• Licensure: Current medical license or eligible for Alabama medical licensure
• Certifications Required:
  • ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Clinical Skills: Demonstrated competency in emergency medicine procedures and patient care
• Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills
