Overview Employer paid benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision! For employee and any dependents. Wage Scale - Min: $19.57 Max: $29.98. Schedule: Mon - Thurs 32 hours per week. Purpose of Position Employee is responsible for ensuring the efficient flow in the daily operations, customer service at patient check‑in/check‑out and on phones, appointment scheduling, chart preparation, verifying insurance coverage, reminding patients of appointments, scanning all paperwork into patient chart, correctly taking messages and ensuring their timely delivery, and assists in all other duties as needed for the Department under the direction and assistance of the Manager. Responsibilities Collects patient demographic and insurance information then accurately keys this information into Home Care. Prepares charts for patient: verifying insurance coverage, referral and medical record information is available in chart at time of appointment, correct forms for documentation are available in chart, and ensures patient demographics are up to date. Scans in medical information with visit label as needed. Correctly takes messages either by phone or over counter, ensuring all necessary information is gathered and documented following practice guidelines. Also ensures the messages are delivered in a timely manner. Provides courteous and professional customer service over the counters or phones (within 3 rings), assisting patients as needed, asking for information and payments, and assisting the physicians and nursing staff as they provide services to the patient. Assist in any other duties necessary for the Department to function. The office/clinic may be staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, working extended evening hours and weekend hours. Situations may occur which will require an adjustment in hours worked and/or shift as the workload may dictate. Qualifications Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Bilingual and/or English‑Spanish speaking preferred. Have the ability to work with a culturally diverse population. Equipment and Tools Knowledge in computers, phones, and other office equipment. Knowledge in insurance regulations and medical terminology. Knowledge in filing procedures and record documentation. Bilingual, English/Spanish, is preferred, for customer service interpretation duties. Working Conditions Inside environment protected from the weather, variable noise levels, occasionally subject to combative customers or verbal altercations with co‑workers, subject to a rapid pace creating an unpredictable environment and subject to possible exposure to infection, contagious disease or hazardous materials, just to name a few. Physical Demands Perceive the nature of sound by ear. Express or exchange ideas by means of spoken words. Extend arms and hands in any direction. Use of hands and fingers. Stoop, kneel, crouch, lift up to 30 lbs., sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Be self‑motivated, dependable, neatly groomed and well organized. Compensation 32 Hours USD $19.57/Hr.
