Design treatment plans and follow ups for those interested in cessation or cutting down efforts.Provide education regarding FDA-approved tobacco cessation medications and make appropriate referrals or recommendations within scope of practice. Collaborate with providers to ensure timely access to appropriate pharmacologic treatment for tobacco use disorder.Participate in tobacco cessation outreach, education, prevention, and community health initiatives.Provide individual and/or group tobacco cessation counseling using evidence-based behavioral interventions.Document assessments, interventions, treatment plans, referrals, and outcomes accurately and in accordance with organizational requirements.Aid in any data collection for grant programming related to the tobacco cessation initiatives.REQUIRED EDUCATIONBachelors degree in Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, Health Education, or a related fieldMasters PreferredLICENSES/CERTIFICATIONSCertification as a Tobacco Treatment Specialist(TTS) or similar credentialWillingness to obtain TTS certification within 6 months of hire.COMPETENCIES (KSAs)LeadershipInitiativeEthical PracticesJudgmentRelationship ManagementEmotional IntelligenceProfessional BoundariesGlobal and Cultural AwarenessCritical EvaluationProblem SolvingDecision MakingCommunicationTeamworkCrisis ManagementTechnical CapacityREQUIRED EXPERIENCEMinimum 2-3 years of experience in health education, behavioral health, or substance use prevention/treatment with a focus on tobacco cessation treatment.Minimum 2-3 years of experience working in substance use and mental health treatment programs.
