Job Summary


The Staff Nurse II is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, evaluating, and documenting nursing care for patients in an assigned area. Makes nursing decisions based on critical thinking and knowledge of best practices. Supervises and delegates patient care through auxiliary personnel as appropriate. The annual salary for this position ranges from $63,000 to $64,000. The final offer will be based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assess patientsand participate in evaluation and care with providers Assist providers with procedures. (I&D's, sutures, etc.).
  • Carries out physicians' and nurse practitioners' orders (Following up with patients, EKG's, orthopedic needs, collecting and ordering lab specimens, referrals).
  • Triage walk-in or call-in patients to determine immediate needs.
  • Assess patients understanding of instructions and provide instruction and education as needed.
  • Provide emergency care as needed.
  • Cross trained in other nursing areas: Immunization Clinic and Gynecological Clinic Perform other duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse with Current Texas Nursing License.
  • One (1) year of experience as a practicing nurse.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN).
  • Familiarity with Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Nursing critical thinking ability and knowledge of best practices, ability to perform clinical skills.
  • Use of an electronic health record.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work with standard health care facility equipment.
  • Extremely accurate in following written and verbal instructions.
