Business System Analyst

Company: Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) Position: Business System Analyst Openings: 1 Duration: 6-9 Month Contract (Potential Extensions or Conversions) Pay: $60-67/hr Location: Washington D.C Schedule: Standard business hours Must-Haves: Bachelor’s degree required (MIS or technical analysis-related field preferred) Strong experience with complex database systems (grants, financial, or CRM systems) Hands-on experience with SQL, relational databases, and data management Proven ability in business analysis (gathering requirements, process modeling, system design) Experience creating reports, dashboards, and data analysis outputs Knowledge of XML, JSON, and database-driven web applications Experience with SMART SIMPLE (Grant Management System) Plusses: Experience with grants management systems or programs Exposure to government or federally regulated environments Experience supporting system implementations or vendor transitions Day-to-Day: Gather and translate business requirements into technical system solutions Analyze and redesign business processes to drive efficiency and scalability Partner with stakeholders across departments to align system capabilities with needs Configure and support grants management and related systems Develop queries, dashboards, and reports for business insights Conduct data analysis and monitor data quality and system performance Lead or support implementation projects, including timelines and deliverables Facilitate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder discussions Support system users and resolve tickets/issues Develop and deliver training programs and documentation Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements Participate in vendor selection and system enhancements Perform QA testing and ensure successful solution delivery Job Description: Insight Global is seeking a Business Systems Analyst for a mission-driven organization within the public sector/technology space.
