Director Financial Research & Product Development

Overview CME Group is the world’s leading derivatives marketplace and the Financial Research and New Product Development(FinRPD) team serves as the technical engine for our interest rate offerings. We are seeking a Director to lead our research efforts during an era of unprecedented change. The role involves leading strategy across Treasury and SOFR futures and options, growing our credit futures suite, and serving as a data storyteller to transform complex market activity into high‑impact publications and visualizations. Responsibilities Research, design and develop risk‑management products for the listed interest‑rates product business line. Understand and validate client needs, define product offerings, and specify product modifications to meet regulatory requirements. Coordinate connectivity to the listed rates, OTC derivatives and OTC cash businesses. Develop research themes and author content to support CME Group businesses, including analysis, data acquisition and visualization. Coordinate with marketing, legal, sales and corporate communications to ensure consistent theme and client reach. Support and extend client‑facing analytical tools, reports and data offerings. Ensure product offerings, services and modifications meet regulatory requirements and client needs. Qualifications Knowledge of CME listed interest‑rate products, ecosystem and product workings. Deep understanding of cash treasury, money markets, repo and credit markets. Proven ability to publish research content. Demonstrated ability to manage projects across multiple timelines and teams with a high level of collaboration. Interest and ability to work across asset classes especially Equity Indexes and Crypto markets. Undergraduate degrees in mathematics, finance, economics or computer science; higher level education preferred. Greater than 5 years of relevant work experience. Compensation & Benefits Competitive total rewards package reflecting our long‑term investment in employees. Pay ranges are based on location: Chicago$145,700–$242,900, NewYork/NewJersey$160,300–$267,100. Salary includes annual target bonus and broad‑based equity opportunities.
