Job Description By working as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) you will support plasma center operations including determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable results. You will work under the guidance of the Center Manager, Assistant Manager, and Center Physician, and provide support for environmental, health and safety (EHS) and medical affairs as needed. How you will contribute Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including standing orders and transfer to emergency care. Consult with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance. Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and notify occupational health/ER as necessary. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements. License or certification in the state of assignment: EMT‑Paramedic. Current CPR and AED certification. State licensure for basic IV therapy. Completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. At least two years of clinical or hospital experience. Compensation & Benefits U.S. hourly wage range: $24.32 - $33.44. Actual wage depends on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications and location, and complies with state/local minimum wage requirements.
