Join OrthoVirginia as a PRN Sterile Processing Technician, where you'll play a vital role in supporting our orthopedic surgical team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone seeking part-time hours (typically 1–2 days per week) while making a meaningful impact on patient care in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery environment.In this role, you'll ensure surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, assembled, and available for procedures. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will help our surgeons and clinical teams deliver exceptional care every day.What You'll DoPerform decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment using industry best practices and manufacturer guidelines.Prepare, organize, and stage surgical instrument trays and case carts for scheduled procedures.Operate sterilizers, ultrasonic washers, and other sterile processing equipment while monitoring quality indicators and biological testing.Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, damage, and proper assembly before sterilization.Maintain accurate sterilization records and documentation.Monitor inventory levels of surgical instruments and sterile supplies to ensure readiness for patient care.Perform routine inspections of sterile inventory, ensuring package integrity and compliance with expiration requirements.Maintain preference cards and instrument inventory to support efficient surgical workflows.Transport sterile instruments and supplies to operating and procedure rooms.Follow all infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards while maintaining a clean, organized sterile processing department.Perform other duties as assigned.What You'll BringKnowledge of sterile processing principles, infection prevention practices, and instrument sterilization standards.Ability to operate sterilization equipment and follow established policies and manufacturer instructions.Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Ability to respond effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.Professional communication and customer service skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively with physicians and clinical staff.Why You'll Love This OpportunityPRN schedule with approximately 1–2 days per weekGreat opportunity to supplement your current position or maintain your sterile processing experience.Work alongside a highly skilled orthopedic surgical team.State-of-the-art ambulatory surgery environment focused on quality patient care.Compensation Range for this position:$20.29 - $30.43Compensation for this role will be based on several factors, including the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, education, skills, certifications, geography/market, and internal equity considerations.This organization participates in e-Verify.
