Job Location: Lucky Dog Casino – Shelton, WA 98584 Salary: $17.43 – $17.43 per hour Summary Cook 1 is responsible for various duties related to sanitization, cleaning, and maintenance of the kitchen and food products by following the methods and procedures set by the Standard Operating procedures (SOP’s) of our Food and Beverage Leadership. Cook 1 demonstrates proficiency in basic skills and will train in further advanced cooking duties to include food preparation and cooking on the hot line. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clean, wash, and maintain pots, pans, dishes, service equipment, and utensils. Clean and maintain all back‑of‑house Food and Beverage outlets. Ensure prep area organization, cleanliness, and sanitation. Perform removal of trash and separation of recyclable materials. Responsible for proper rotation, storage, and maintenance of products. Clean refrigerators and freezers. Deck brush floors, clean mats, and drains in all assigned areas. Transport F&B products throughout all areas of the department. Restock all dishes and utensils. Assist with prep work as needed under the direction of the Lead Cook. Assist on buffets or special events under the direction of the Lead Cook. May assist at a station on the line under the guidance of the Lead Cook. Adhere to State and Federal Health department sanitation codes. Meet attendance guidelines by reporting to work as scheduled with dependability and consistency. Represent the company in a positive manner. Maintain professional dress standards and personal appearance as dictated by the policy manual. Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities None required. Education and/or Experience High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Prior kitchen experience preferred. Language Skills Read, write, speak, and understand English. Comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Computer Skills Working knowledge of computers and familiarity with Microsoft Word is a plus. Reasoning Ability Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out basic instructions; furnished in written, oral or diagram form. This position must possess the ability to multitask. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations ClassII Gaming License issued by the Skokomish Tribal Gaming Commission, and current Washington Food Handlers Permit. Physical Demands Stand and walk for long periods of time. Use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel and reach. Taste or smell. Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl. Talk and hear. Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance, color, peripheral, depth and ability to adjust focus. Exposed to moving mechanical parts and may be at risk of electrical shock. Work in hot, wet, and humid environments for long periods. Occasionally exposed to slippery floors. Typical environment in a busy casino with heavy cigarette smoke accompanied by a variety of competing noises and communications. Flexible hours (weekends, nights, and holidays).
