Senior Fund Accountant

Overview

A growing financial services organization is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to join its Austin-based team. This opportunity offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of alternative investment clients, including private equity, hedge funds, credit funds, and other alternative investment structures.

The role is ideal for accounting professionals coming from public accounting or fund administration environments who are looking to further develop their fund accounting expertise in a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual fund financial statements
• Calculate and maintain fund NAVs, investor allocations, and capital account balances
• Process capital calls, distributions, subscriptions, and redemptions
• Perform cash reconciliations and maintain general ledger activity
• Assist with portfolio investment accounting and valuation support
• Coordinate with fund managers, investors, auditors, and internal stakeholders
• Support year-end audits and prepare audit schedules
• Assist with investor reporting and financial reporting requirements
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiencies
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and reporting deadlines

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in fund accounting, public accounting, or financial services accounting
• Experience with alternative investment funds, including private equity, hedge funds, private credit, or similar structures preferred
• Public accounting experience strongly preferred
• CPA or active pursuit of CPA certification preferred
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
