Electrophysiology Technician

The Electrophysiology (EP) Monitoring Technician provides critical assistance to Electrophysiologists during EP studies, ablations, and cardiac implant procedures. This role involves operating specialized equipment such as GE MacLab and CardioLab systems, implementing EP pacing maneuvers, and coordinating with medical staff and vendors to ensure efficient procedure flow and room turnover. The technician supports a variety of cardiac procedures including RF and cryo ablations, device implants, and works closely with the healthcare team to maintain high-quality patient care in a dynamic lab environment. Responsibilities:

• Assist Electrophysiologists during EP studies, ablations, and cardiac implant procedures.
• Operate and manage GE MacLab and CardioLab systems to assist in pacing maneuvers and measurements.
• Support setup and coordination of mapping systems including Biosense Webster Carto, Abbott Ensite/Precision, and Rhythmia.
• Communicate effectively with MDs, in-room staff, charge nurses, and third-party vendors to ensure availability of equipment, supplies, and personnel.
• Facilitate room turnover and ensure on-time starts for scheduled procedures.
• Document procedures primarily using Epic electronic medical records system.
• Maintain a professional and patient-focused demeanor while adapting to lab changes and promoting a positive work environment.

• RCES (Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist) license or Radiologic Technologist license.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in electrophysiology or related cardiac monitoring field.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Proficiency with GE MacLab and CardioLab systems.
• Ability to implement and understand EP pacing maneuvers.

• Experience with cardiac implant or structural heart scrub procedures.
• Bloom stimulator experience.
• Familiarity with Epic electronic health records system.
• Knowledge of multiple mapping systems such as Carto, Abbott, and Rhythmia.

• Must be adaptable to changes in lab workflow and maintain a team-oriented, patient-focused attitude.
• Work environment includes high-paced electrophysiology labs with complex cardiac procedures.

• Primarily day shifts with some evening shifts and on-call duties as per unit needs.
• Shift patterns include either 4x10-hour or 3x12-hour shifts.
