Overview Department: 35125 Atrium Health Cabarrus – Nursing: NICU Status: Full time Hours per week: 36 Schedule details/additional information: Full-Time night shift (36 hours per week) with 1–2 full weekend shifts every 6 weeks. Location: Atrium Health Cabarrus NICU – 20-bed unit with a mix of open bay and private rooms. Responsibilities Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and effective communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum. Qualifications Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program Not for new grads with less than 6 months of experience NICU experience preferred Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification Patient Population & Capabilities Patients typically 25 weeks gestation and greater; complex respiratory diseases Infants requiring high-frequency ventilation, conventional ventilation, Bubble CPAP, and NAVA Newborns needing observation after delivery; cooling for traumatic births Two dedicated Respiratory Therapists for high-risk deliveries and NICU care Dedicated High Risk Delivery Team including NICU RNs, neonatal providers, and respiratory therapists Nursing ratios range 1:1 and may increase to 1:3 depending on acuity Your Role & Expectations Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care and safe outcomes Benefits, Compensation & Programs Pay range: $38.20 – $57.30 per hour Benefits eligible: Yes Eligibility for total rewards program including compensation and wellness offerings Additional Programs & Support Services Professional Governance – empowering clinical decision-making and leadership Teammate Advisory Board – fostering collaboration and continuous improvement Behavioral Response Team (BRT) – regional resource for escalating behaviors Vascular Access Team – 24/7 support for complex IV insertions, PICC lines, and procedures Academic Partnership – collaboration with Cabarrus College of Health Sciences About Advocate Health Advocate Health is a large, nonprofit, integrated health system serving multiple regions, with extensive clinical programs and education initiatives.
