We are a full-service dermatology practice specializing in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. With two fellowship-trained Mohs surgeons on staff, we offer on-site diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers at our Skin Cancer Surgery Center. The ideal per-diem Surgical Medical Assistant candidate is positive, energetic, intelligent, highly dependable, organized, and can multitask. The MA assists the Provider with patient visits, including consultative and surgical procedures. Medical AssistantPrimary Duties: Assisting providers in delivering quality patient care. Greeting and preparing patients for examinations and treatments. Providing side-by-side assistance with surgical procedures. Assisting with instrument sterilization and ensuring exam rooms are clean and organized. Reviewing medical history, accurately and confidentially maintaining patient records and documentation, and maintaining notes in the EMR system. Obtaining appropriate consents when necessary. Call in prescriptions, return patient calls, and handle administrative duties as needed. Medical Assistant Skills and Qualities: Able to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others, patients, and co-workers Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider’s instructions, and know when to seek information or advice Proficient communication skills (written and verbal) Able to travel between locations Experience and Education: Preferred Medical Assistant (MA) Certification, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) License, or LPN Hands-on experience in a clinical setting.
