Average 160 patients seen per dayPatient Types:All ages (Neonate to Geriatric)Multispecialty - Medical/ Cardiac/Neuro/Ortho/Trauma/Interventional - will stabilize and ship out higher-level Neuro and Trauma patientsDKA, Sepsis, Multisystem trauma (stabilization), Respiratory Failure, Renal Failure, COVID, IVDA, ETOH, Mental Health (Adult and Peds), Pediatric Med/TeleStroke requiring TPA administration, spinal precautionsSTEMI, NSTEMI, Heart failurePatient Ratios:RN: Days & Nights:Main ED - 1:3-5 (based on acuity)ED/Psych Holding - 1:6Required Certifications:RN:BLSACLSPALSCPI (required) - MOAB is not acceptedNIHSS (preferred)TNCC (preferred) Skills required:RN:Travel pairs are not preferred - must get manager approvalSame shifts cannot be guaranteedExperience in a facility with a high acuity, fast paced environment comparable to UNC Health SoutheasternCritical care drips/titration, cardiac rhythm interpretation, measuring cardiac strips, drains, chest tubes, hemodynamic lines: Art lines/CVP, Stroke experience (TPA administration and mixing), conscious sedationUS guided IV's is not a skill that will be needed at this time for travelersSupport on the Unit:Secretary, 24/7CNA - may be available to assist with: vitals, glucose checks, 12 lead EKG'sCharge nurse: unassignedCentralized and Bedside Tele monitoring within the departmentPhlebotomy: (will do all peripheral lab draws)Resource Nurse - team lead - staffing dependentHouse Supervisor, 24/7RT, 24/7 (ED specific) - will perform ABG's and Nebulizer txsPharmacy, 24/7ED specific pharmacist - 1100-2300, variable days of the week(2) ED physicians, 24/7Mid-Level Providers, 0800-0200, 7 days per weekRRT, 24/7ICU Intensivist, available for consult 24/7Security - typically in the ED at all times but may be pulled for in house emergencies as wellCentral transport to move patients, unless the patient requires constant RN monitoring due to acuityCharting System/Equipment:EPIC - requiredAlarisOmnicellSpacelab monitorsFloating:Could potentially float to ICU but would be helping hands/task RN only Orientation:1st day - Hospital NEO2nd Day - Preceptor orientation to unit3rd Day - in staffing, works independentlyScheduling:Shift Times:0700-19001900-0700*Will not be able to accommodate blocked scheduling - please do not request approval for this*8-week scheduleWeekend rotation: Every other (Fri/Sat/Sun)Can we approve time off? Registered Nurse, ER Experience: 2 years Travel Experience: 1 assignment in General Licenses: RN(Compact Accepted)(Copy needed) Certifications(At least one of the following): ACLS-AHA(Copy Needed), BLS-AHA(Copy Needed), PALS(Copy Needed), CERT-Crisis Prevention Intervention SSN Required DOB Required Work History: Should not be more than 30 days of gap in entire work history References: 1 Reference in the last 12 months skills checklist within 12 mos reference within 12 mob perm address over 75 miles previous travel
