Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled part time Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in the kitchen by assisting with food preparation and ensuring that all ingredients are ready to create exceptional dishes. This position requires a passion for food, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meals, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
- Follow recipes and instructions to ensure consistency in food preparation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including utensils and equipment.
- Adhere to food safety standards and proper handling procedures at all times.
- Support the kitchen team during service by preparing additional items as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs to the kitchen manager.
- Participate in daily cleaning tasks, including sanitizing surfaces and equipment.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation methods.
- Familiarity with food handling practices and safety regulations.
- Experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and meal preparation for special diets is a plus.
