Overview The Water Treatment Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient treatment of water resources. This position involves working with various technologies and methodologies to monitor, analyze, and improve water quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, engineering, or a related field, and be familiar with regulatory standards set by the EPA. This role requires a blend of technical skills, project management capabilities, and an understanding of environmental laws.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of water treatment facilities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Collect and analyze data related to water quality and treatment processes.
- Utilize CAD and GIS software for mapping and designing water treatment systems.
- Collaborate with project engineering teams to develop effective treatment solutions.
- Research new technologies and methods for improving water treatment processes.
- Ensure all operations comply with EPA standards and environmental laws.
- Prepare reports on findings, recommendations, and compliance status for stakeholders.
- Provide training and support to staff on best practices in water treatment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in CAD software; experience with MicroStation is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to water treatment systems.
- Familiarity with data collection techniques and analysis methods.
- Understanding of GIS applications in environmental projects.
- Knowledge of environmental law as it pertains to water quality standards.
- Excellent research skills to stay updated on industry trends and regulations.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
