About the Role:
Housing Advocacy Vocational and Employment (HAVE) in Gaithersburg, MD is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this rewarding role, you'll make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities by providing personalized support and care. - Provide direct care and daily living support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, and other activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Support individuals in community integration, vocational activities, and social skill development
- Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately
- Transport and accompany clients to appointments, activities, and community outings
- Administer medications and monitor health conditions per established protocols
- Collaborate with supervisors, case managers, and family members to ensure quality person-centered care
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior experience in direct support, caregiving, or human services preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Genuine commitment to advocating for and empowering individuals with disabilities
