Senior Supply Planning Specialist

Job Summary The Senior Supply Planning Specialist will be responsible for ensuring effective supply planning for finished goods, achieving targeted service levels, while optimizing inventory and bad goods management, and maintaining close relationships with factory/co‑manufacturing locations to ensure supply plans optimize total delivered cost and respond effectively to market demands. This role will also manage the cost‑effective supply and production planning and co‑manufacturing requirements, oversee supply plans that balance supply, service, and inventory, and work with production constraints and total delivered cost impact. Additionally, the position will manage short and long‑term (rolling 18‑month) capacity plans with factories to identify and resolve potential capacity issues early and ensure customer service and time objectives are met within financial constraints to meet marketing and financial goals. The position may be remote or hybrid, with preference for candidates within commuting distance of Bridgewater, NJ or Arlington, VA. Responsibilities Recommend decisions for balancing supply needs across all available sourcing locations (factory, co‑manufacturer). Set, review, and maintain safety stock policy by SKU to meet agreed customer service level objectives while minimizing working capital costs. Manage bad goods in the P&L by monitoring aging stock risk, communicating with the commercial team to align on mitigation actions, and proposing preventive actions to reduce future occurrence. Reassess current inventory management processes continually and lead new planning methods and/or tools. Identify and analyze build‑stock needs and timing based on production availability and strategic decisions, and communicate to appropriate stakeholders. Communicate with cross‑functional teams on product availability and critical items, highlighting risks of customer shortages, back‑in‑stock projections, root causes, and preventative actions to avoid recurrence. Present supply outlook—including days on hand, service levels, projected working capital, factory performance—and strategic plans for the 18‑month rolling horizon and long‑term supply outlook to NHS leadership and stakeholders. Gather all necessary inputs from operational functions that impact the supply outlook. Lead budget planning and target‑setting activities. Optimize, review, and propose meeting structures and contents to ensure alignment with manufacturing and other operational functions. Conduct weekly production reviews with manufacturing (factory, co‑manufacturer). Coordinate with the QA team to ensure effective and timely product release, prioritizing products as necessary. Lead monthly production reviews with manufacturing. Coordinate communication and flow of transitions among supply planners affected by major sourcing changes and projects. Develop the supply‑planning network by leading and actively presenting in functional meetings with other business units to share experiences and contribute to company‑wide best practices. Requirements High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in a supply‑chain role, preferably in demand or supply planning. Strong analytical aptitude with proven ability to analyze, interpret data, solve problems, and develop solutions to complex problems. Fluency in MS Office, including MS Excel. Transformational mindset and ability to navigate change management. Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, and stakeholder‑management skills, including cross‑functional stakeholder management. Ability to work under tight deadlines with minimal supervision. Agglient and team‑oriented. Experience with ERP systems such as JD Edwards and/or SAP highly preferred. Ability to travel up to 10% as needed by the team and business. Benefits and Compensation The approximate pay range for this position is $85,000 to $95,000. Final compensation may vary based on knowledge, skills, and abilities and geographic location.
