Candidates are expected to have scrub experience. This position is for 10-hour shifts, three days a week, totaling 30 hours (Monday to Friday, no weekends). Traveling staff may float to other areas as needed. The first week of the contract will be dedicated to onboarding and may not reflect the contractor's primary shift preference. Contractors should keep this first week open for a varied schedule, including Monday through Friday. For example, a candidate contracted for night shifts may be required to attend onboarding on day shifts. Candidates contracted for three 12-hour shifts may need to attend four ten-hour shifts during onboarding week. Schedules are made in advance to provide orientation time on all shifts and cannot be altered. All staff members are expected to rotate between days, nights, weekends, and holidays based on departmental needs. The contracted shift may change if the staff needs to cover weekends or overnight shifts. Staff may be expected to cover one weekend (up to two weekend days) and may also be asked to work one week of overnights per 4-week schedule. For example, a schedule may include two day shifts and one night shift based on team needs. Schedulers will incorporate time between flip shifts. Call coverage may involve up to three call shifts based on unit requirements. On-call staff must be prepared to arrive at the facility within 30 minutes of receiving a call. It is expected that all staff members rotate between inpatient and outpatient settings based on departmental needs. When cases conclude early in the outpatient setting, staff will rotate to other areas to complete their shifts. Schedule changes and last-minute requests for time off will be considered based on unit needs. Contracted staff will be held accountable to facility policies, standard operating procedures, best practices, and code of conduct. Quality preceptorship and evaluation of learners are expected from all clinicians.
