Network Engineer

Job Description: As a member of CenterGrid’s 24x7x365operations team, a Senior Network Engineer has overall responsibility for managed client networks and their connectivity to CenterGrid .This includes functional networks in the customers, LAN, WLAN and WAN spaces and encompasses a variety of technologies, manufacturers, protocols, and standards. In this capacity, a Senior Network Engineer also actively participates in ITIL v3-driven incident, problem, change, configuration, performance, capacity management, and continuous improvement of devices and resources monitored and managed by CenterGrid . Responsibilities Include - :Designs, develops, configures, deploys, and documents functional and secure network solutions and their required components, as well as the necessary processes and procedures to operationalize them across the organizati - on.Responds to and resolves client issues utilizing technology tools, procedures, and training through awareness of service offerings and Service Level Agreements (SLA - s).Provides direct customer interaction as needed in support of customer operatio - ns.Understands Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), supports and follows predefined ITIL incident, problem, and change management processes in place for each client when working to resolve client’s requests and outag - es.Provides rotating on-call SME 24x7 after-hours suppo - rt.Provides technical leadership and acts as a technical resource and escalation point for Tier I and II technical teams, and mentors team membe - rs.Interact with co-workers to coordinate and disseminate information to complete job assignments in order to attain company service objectiv - es.Provides and executes periodic environment reviews and client health checks, collects statistical information, monitors growth, and suggests enhancements of services or resiliency of environments to management and the custom - er.Train junior staff on IT operations and technologi - es.Maintain IT asset inventory and CM - DB.Sets course for repeatable processes and automation of recurring tas - ks.Tracks time utilization using CenterGrid’s standard tooli - ng.Support Security Incident Response protoco - ls.Supports Vulnerability Remediation protoco - ls.Remediates security vulnerabilities per proce - ss.Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations as well as policies and procedures of CenterGrid to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavio - rs.Supports and conducts oneself in a manner consistent with customer service expectatio - ns.Other Duties and Responsibilities as assign - ed. Required Skills and Experience Minimum of 5 years industry-related experience as a Network Engineer or Network Administrator in Enterprise and Managed Services Networking environm - ents.Realizes value in end-to-end service delivery as critical to individual and company suc - cess.Experience/Understanding of network architecture design, implementation, administration and sup - port.Experience/Understanding of communication and network protocols(TCP/IP, ARP, DNS, e - tc.).Experience/Understanding of MPLS, VPN technologies and protocols (RemoteAccess & Site to Site - IPSEC, L2TP, PPTP, SSL/TLS, SSH, e - tc.).Experience with a variety of manufacturers and network operating systems (Arista, Cisco, Fortinet, Brocade, Ubiquity, Palo Alto, e - tc.).Experience/Understanding of wireless networking technolo - gies.Experience/Understanding of legacy and Next Generation Firewalls and functionality (IDS, IPS, DPI, - etc.)Familiarity with access control models and network secu - rity.Experience/Understanding of ticket management soft - ware.Meets deadlines by prioritizing work requests based on sense of urg - ency.Follows through with tasks, projects, and troubleshooting with minimal supervi - sion.Self-starter with excellent organizational, administrative, and interpersonal sk - ills.Superb customer service sk - ills.Local travel and overnight travel to CenterGrid and client offices may be necessary (typically less than - 10%).Ensure all necessary operational processes and procedures are carried out with a high level of attention to detail, expediency, and on-time deli - very.Stays on the leading edge of technology by learning new techniques and methods through continual educa - tion.Excellent punctuality and attend - ance.Able to lift devices weighing over 50 lbs.Preferred Skills and Experience: Preferred Skills and Experience Experience with VMware NSX (and sub vari ants).Experience with SD-WAN technol ogies.Experience with VoIP technol ogies.Experience with - SIEM.Preferred 2- or 4-year degree or technical training (technical school or mili - tty).ITIL v3 Foundations certification de - sired.Experience with Major Incident su - pport.Server+, Network+, A+ de - sired.Python/Puppet/Chef/Saltstack/Ansible experience de - sired.DevOps/DevSecOps experience de sired. #J-18808-Ljbffr
