This is a field based role, working within the roles territory. You will spend your time working from home-office, or travelling across your territory for customer meeting, conferences and events.

In most instances, we look for individuals already living in-territory, but welcome those actively relocating to the area.

You will have direct input to our mission to democratize data-driven medicine for the ultimate benefit of cancer and rare disease patients across the globe.

Your Mission

Build SOPHiA GENETICS' commercial presence across the Pacific Northwest, covering Washington, Oregon and Northern California. This Sales Executive role focuses on a largely undeveloped territory, with existing opportunities in Northern California to build on. You'll bring oncology knowledge and a track record in sales to conversations with oncologists, pathology teams and senior decision-makers, helping institutions understand how SOPHiA's genomic solutions fit their testing needs and support treatment decisions.

The value you add

• Develop new business across Washington, Oregon and Northern California, building a pipeline in a territory that has had limited commercial coverage.
• Build relationships with oncologists, pathology teams and C-suite stakeholders to understand their clinical and institutional priorities.
• Explain the value of SOPHiA's genomic solutions in the context of a partner's testing workflows, existing capabilities and needs.
• Work with subject-matter experts to address technical questions about sequencing, bioinformatics and how testing leads to a report.
• Convert opportunities into bookings and grow the territory's commercial presence.

Requirements

We know that every background is different, but to be best set for success we see you bringing:

• A demonstrated sales track record in oncology or molecular diagnostics, with a foundation in oncology biology and the clinical purpose of genomic testing.
• An understanding of DNA and RNA, relevant biomarkers such as EGFR and KRAS, and why oncologists use testing to inform treatment decisions.
• The ability to have credible conversations with oncologists and senior institutional decision-makers, as well as laboratory and pathology stakeholders.
• The ability to connect a genomic solution's capabilities to the needs of the institution buying it.

You don't need to be a sequencing or bioinformatics expert. Experience selling oncology tests from a send-out testing perspective can be relevant, provided you understand the clinical context and can discuss the results with physicians. You can build your knowledge of laboratory workflows and bioinformatics with support from our subject-matter experts. General equipment, consumables or software sales experience alone isn't sufficient for this role.
