Diet Technician

Salary: $85,000 - 125,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a registered Diet Tech credential.
• We require a degree in Nutrition or Dietetics.
• We seek supervisory experience in healthcare settings.

• We require knowledge of applicable state and federal guidelines.
• We require computer literacy, including proficiency with EMR systems and computer-based menu software.

• We assess and monitor residents nutritional status, make recommendations to medical staff, and develop appropriate care plans.
• We evaluate residents special nutrition needs, including support requirements, skin breakdown concerns, and significant weight changes.
• We coordinate nutrition support supplies and oral supplements with outside vendors and relevant department leaders.
• We oversee resident meal service to ensure diet modifications are followed.
• We educate residents, families, and staff on nutrition and diet modification concepts.
• We regularly review dietary care plans to confirm they remain effective and support high-quality care.
• We meet weekly with the interdisciplinary team to review and adjust residents care plans.
• We work closely with the Speech-Language Pathologist to ensure residents with dysphagia receive appropriate mechanically altered diets.
• We review all menu changes to ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and state and federal guidelines.
• We update diet orders and menu changes in computer menu software on a daily basis.
• We supervise and collaborate closely with the dietary team to deliver excellent resident care.
• We conduct routine audits of areas related to quality nutrition care.
• We ensure the facility remains compliant with regulations and policies on weight monitoring.
• We communicate daily with the interdisciplinary team to support quality resident care.
