CT Technologist - PRN

CT TechnologistThis role performs CT scans by preparing patients, operating imaging equipment, administering contrast media, and producing high-quality diagnostic images while following safety and quality standards. The position also educates patients, documents procedures, collaborates with radiologists and the healthcare team, and helps ensure accurate, timely imaging services.Schedule: PRNEssential Duties And ResponsibilitiesPerforms diagnostic Computed Tomography procedures and techniques.Prepares and administers contrast media as appropriate to procedures performed.Reviews patients' clinical history ensuring that appropriate scan is ordered, and labs are within range - reviewing with radiologist and/or provider as necessary.Provides patient education.Provides practical instruction for students and partners.Initiates basic life support action when necessary.Starts and maintains intravenous access, may include power injectable implanted ports and specialized linesApplies principles of patient safety during all aspects of procedures, including assisting and transporting patients.Operates CT scanner and power injector to produce cross section images of patient anatomy for diagnostic purposesAdministers contrast media orally and intravenous maintaining aseptic technique.Documents all information pertinent to CT procedure in electronic medical record to include medication reconciliation.Ensures patients receive discharge information regarding exam to include patient letter and information.Flex to various shifts needed to support the department, may be required to flex up hours as needed to include weekends holidays and callAssist radiologist with interventional procedures as neededReports and documents CT safety incidents/ adverse events per protocol.Assist with medical record/image sharing as necessaryFollows ALARA principles through accurate scan techniques and parametersUtilizes associated workstation to produce post process imaging and 3D reconstructions as required per protocolAdjust scan protocols/parameters as necessary for individual patient needUses radiology information systems (including PACS), completes all required records and reports, submits images and data for physician review and interpretation.Culture Of Excellence Behavior ExpectationsTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following behavior expectations :Quality - Follows policies and procedures; Understands fiscal responsibility; Works within approved budget; Develops and implements cost saving measures; contributes to profits and revenue.Education & ExperienceGraduate of an accredited radiography programMinimum One (1) to Three (3) years of experience as a CT technologist preferredWill consider trainees and new graduatesCertification/LicensureARRT Radiography registration requiredARRT Computed Tomography registration required within 2 years of hireIEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required if working in IllinoisWI-DSPS radiographer license required if working in WisconsinApproved CPR or BLS certification within 90 daysAdditional RequirementsPassing the Driver's License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring).Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check.Must be able to follow written/oral instructions.Other Skills And AbilitiesProblem Solving- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner ;
