The Equipment Operator A position at Wernersville State Hospital is a great opportunity to support daily operations that keep the campus running smoothly. As an Equipment Operator A, you will perform the following duties: Vehicle Operation: Operate buses, trucks, tractors, and other equipment up to 32,000 pounds to support daily hospital needs Grounds Maintenance: Mow grass, trim brush, and complete outdoor tasks that keep the grounds safe and attractive Snow Removal: Use plows, blowers, and deicing equipment to clear roads and walkways during winter weather Transport Duties: Move consumers, staff, supplies, food, laundry, and materials on and off the hospital grounds Equipment Care: Clean, inspect, and perform minor repairs to vehicles and tools to keep them in safe working condition Safety Compliance: Complete inspections and follow safety standards during all operations Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, work every 3rd or 4th weekend, with a 30-minute lunch. Work schedule may vary based on operational needs. This position may require overtime and is subject to emergency call-in. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831.00 (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Special Requirements: This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license. Conditions of Employment: This position requires the selected candidate to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) within the probationary period.
