We're looking for a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Worker to help care for our parks, athletic fields, playgrounds, buildings, and public spaces. From keeping facilities clean and welcoming to handling basic repairs and maintenance, your work will help ensure our community spaces are ready for everyone to enjoy.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and doesn't want to spend the day behind a desk. You'll take on tasks such as cleaning, painting, event setup, grounds upkeep, and general repairs while using equipment like pressure washers, floor-cleaning machines, chainsaws, County vehicles, and all-terrain vehicles. Your Purpose & Day-To-Day Journey

Education and Experience: An equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year of experience in a related field.

• Must maintain a valid driver's license.

• Knowledge of departmental policies, plans, and procedures.
• Knowledge of modern office practices, plans, and procedures.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning methods and the safe use of cleaning materials and disinfectants.
• Knowledge of safe work methods and safety regulations pertaining to the work.
• Knowledge of shop mathematics and basic record keeping practices.
• Knowledge of basic painting, plumbing, and tools and techniques.
• Skill in effective communication, both orally and in writing.
• Skill in prioritizing and organizing work.
• Skill in the use of office equipment such as a computer, multi-line telephone system, scanner, fax machine, and copier.
• Ability to operate automotive/all-terrain vehicles and light-duty motor vehicles.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to perform manual labor, sometimes under unfavorable weather conditions.
• Depending upon assignment: Ability to work long and/or late nights, early mornings, split shifts, on weekends and holidays.
• Ability to provide internal/external guidance and customer assistance via all forms of communication.
• Ability to operate motor vehicle.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, service providers, other employees, and the general public.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Stooping, crouching, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, hearing, seeing up close, seeing far away, kneeling, reaching, pushing, talking, standing, climbing, finger movement, repetitive motions, depth perception. Frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
